Activities
The Division of Human Genetics holds a monthly research meeting consisting of short presentations on different topics. These discussions foster collaborations, leading towards collaborative research grants. We also sponsor external speakers on human genetics related topics through the Tuesday Seminar Series and the Thursday Seminar Series.
In November 2013, we held our first scientific retreat, showcasing 11 research programs in the Division.
Each year, we co-sponsor Duke University’s inaugural Duke Alumni reception at the annual meeting of the American Society of Human Genetics. Our 2015 ASHG Alumni Party will be held on October 7th at the Hilton Baltimore in Baltimore, MD from 7:00pm-9:00pm in the Calloway A/B Room, 2nd Floor.

The Division coordinates graduate training in human genetics across campus by providing courses in Human Genetics and Genetic Epidemiology. We also teach additional courses covering various topics in genetics and genomics through the University Program in Genetics and Genomics.
We plan to continue these myriad activities and add additional ones in order to increase our presence and strengthen our mission on campus. In future years, the Division of Human Genetics will recruit into our department new investigators working in key areas of human genetics.
